Mikey on Beer beach with the white cliffs behind: Explore Beer Devon, A Hidden Fishing Village Time Forgot

Beer · East Devon · Jurassic Coast

Discover Devon’s authentic fishing village

Welcome to Explore Beer Devon, our local guide to one of the loveliest corners of the Jurassic Coast.

We first came to Beer as visitors, fell for it, and moved our family here. Everything on this site comes from that experience: the beaches we head to, the walks we actually do, where we eat, and the quieter spots most people miss.

Whether you’re after fossil hunting, a proper pub or simply a slower few days by the sea, you’ll find plenty of things to do in Beer, Devon. And if you’re still looking for somewhere to stay, our own place, Sea Holly House, is perched above the village with views out to sea.

About us

Mikey & Cherie

— living in Beer

Explore Beer Devon started for a very simple reason: we kept seeing people arrive in Beer unsure how to make the most of their time here. Too many guides tried to cover all of Devon, and hardly any focused properly on what makes Beer special.

Before Explore Beer Devon existed, we lived in Beer full-time with our young daughter for over two years while preparing to launch Sea Holly House. That time gave us a very real understanding of what daily life in Beer is actually like — not just as visitors, but as a family.
